Poachers looking to shock the leaders

Boston Town will be looking to shock league leaders Daventry Town when they return to action on Saturday.

Following their blank weekend, the Poachers face a tough test as they host the United Counties League Premier Division highfliers.

Daventry have won their past five games, scoring 17 times in the process.

But Boston have enjoyed some success against the top teams this season.

They held second-placed Pinchbeck to a draw earlier this campaign, also holding fifth-placed Eynesbury Rovers to a 1-1 stalemate.

Gary Edgley’s side will be eager to bounce back from three successive defeats, including last Tuesday’s 4-0 UCL Knockout Cup defeat at Eynesbury Rovers, which saw striker Jacob Fenton dismissed.

Saturday’s match at the DWB Stadium kicks off at 3pm.

The Poachers will travel to Sleaford Town next Wednesday for a Lincs Senior Trophy match (KO 7.45pm).
