Poignant day for golfers at Bondhay

Sunday was a poignant day in the calendar at Bondhay Golf Club, with the Jill Lewis Memorial Day.

Golfers and friends from around the UK were in attendance, with all money collected going to UK Cancer Awareness.

Martin, the husband of the late Jill Lewis, presented the awards.

The winners with an outstanding score of 45 points were Joelle Davies and partner Tom White.

Runners-up were Chloe Pinegar and her father Carl Pinegar, while the partnership of Gail Bisatt and Billy Ayres came third.

The Two’s winners were Sue Clark and Neil Crabtree.

A big thank you to lady captain Lesley Hayes and Martin Lewis for a special day.

At Serlby Park, the Centenary Medal was won by Matt Robinson 68-5=63, from Derrick Harris 79-14=65 and Ayden Hall 75-10=65

The Ladies Centenary Medal went to June Batty 81-11=70, frpm Audrey Eggleshaw 84-14=70 and Janice Fearn 96-26=70

Lewis Hutchinson won the Yellow Tee Stablefordwith 42 points, beating Bradley Aspinall 39 and Peter Ashurst 38.

The Eggleshaw Mixed Greensome winners were Andy Oates and Julie Johnson 75-15.4=59.6, from Arthur and Pam Rogerson 75-10.2=64.8 and Arthur and Wendy Crooks 83-17.8=65.2.

The Ladies Prince William Trophy was won by Jane Barker 90-24=66, who beat Diane Whiteley 87-20=67 and June Batty 79-11=68.
