“Early indications suggest a 64-year-old local man, who we can now name as Keith Greatrix from the Sleaford area, was building a shed when a section of concrete fell on him. His family have been informed and officers are continuing to support them.”

The exact circumstances are being investigated by Lincolnshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

Detective Sergeant Jon Shield said: “The HSE has been informed of this incident and a joint investigation is underway. It’s common practice for us to work together at the early stages of an industrial accident of this nature.

“At this stage the investigation is focused on trying to find out exactly what happened and we will later complete a report for Her Majesty’s Coroner.”
