Police appeal for witnesses after girl, 10, hurt in A17 crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old girl was seriously hurt after being hit by a car.

The collision happened as the girl was crossing the A17 at Wigtoft at the junction of Sleaford Road and Hipper Lane.

She was taken to hospital after the incident at around 3.12pm on Friday.

Police say her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The car involved was a Toyota Rav 4.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have dashcam footage to contact them.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “The injured girl was with another girl on the centre island on the A17 just before the collision happened.

“We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the two girls on the centre island, anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who may have dashcam footage of this section of the A17 at around the time the collision happened.”
