Police appeal to M1 crash

The accident happened in strong winds and heavy rain at about 3.13am on Tuesday 3rd January on the southbound carriageway, just before junction 31.

No-one was hurt, but both vehicles – a grey BMW 3 series and a red Nissan Micra – were badly damaged, as was the nearside barrier.

The southbound carriageway was closed for around 15 minutes.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the manner in which the cars were being driven just prior to it to ring 101 and quote incident number 78 of 3 January, 2012.
