Police in North Hykeham warn of dangers of swimming in lakes

The step comes as the weather turns warmer.

PCSO Sarah Lingard said: “With the nice weather comes the usual seasonal concerns for the policing team due to people swimming in in the lakes/gravel pits on our beat.

“I would ask parents to please remind your young people of the dangers of swimming in these disused pits and lakes.

“In particular it is worth noting that Millennium Green Lake in North Hykeham is subject to a Public Space Protection Order, which prohibits people from swimming in the lake, or drinking alcohol in the area.”
