Police name man killed in Blyth Road crash

POLICE have named the man who died in a road crash between Worksop and Blyth on Saturday 5th November.

Tony Dunn, 31, of Carlton Road, Worksop, died following the collision near to the entrance to Hodsock Priory on the B6045 Blyth Road at around 3.50pm.

The blue Vauxhall Astra he was driving was in collision with a blue Nissan Navara four-wheel-drive truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Nissan, a 49-year-old woman from the Maltby area, suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to Bassetlaw General Hospital in Worksop where she remains.

Police continue to appeal to anyone who saw what happened.

Detective Sergeant James Greely, of the Notts Police Crash Investigation Unit, said: “It is believed there were a number of vehicles being overtaken by the Vauxhall car at the time of the collision.”

“Unfortunately none of these witnesses remained at the scene and they could provide important information about the circumstances of this tragic incident.”
