Police stop car in Sleaford - two arrested for drug possession with one sent for deportation

Police officers stopped and searched a car on Grantham Road in Sleaford and arrested two occupants for drug offences with one also detained for an immigration offence, it has been reported.

According to Sleaford Police, officers stopped the car in a proactive search at around 4.15pm on Friday.

Two were arrested, a 19 year old man living in Sleaford and a 20-year-old man from London, and cautioned on suspicion of possession of a class A drug.

The 19-year-old was then passed to the UK Border Agency for imminent deportation to Albania and will remain in custody until that time.

Local policing Inspector Marc Gee said: “It’s vital that local communities come to us when they suspect a problem close to home such as drugs. “We record this as intelligence so a picture can be built and action taken. We take concerns of residents very seriously and look into all allegations.

“The local policing team will be on patrol so please come and talk to them if you have any concerns.”
