Hawthorn Tree Community Children’s Centre, in Boston, posted a warning on their Facebook page today (Monday) regarding reports of a suspicious van containing two males.

A Police spokesman said that, although a call was put into them at 3.55pm on Sunday regarding a van with a trailer seen acting suspiciously in the area, they had investigated and were satisfied no attempted abduction had actually taken place.

They said nobody left the van or approached the children.

However, they did urge parents to remain cautious over their children’s safety.

The spokesman said they would rather people reported suspicious incidents and ‘remained vigilant’, adding: “Although we have investigated and there is no offence in this case, it is right that parents are vigilant and teach their children ‘stranger danger’.”

To report a suspicious incident call the police non-emergency number 101.
