Police warn - don’t fall for bogus on-line pop up message
Humberside Police is warning internet users about a scam message claiming to be from the force and asking them to pay a fine for viewing adult content following a call from a concerned resident.
The caller was using the internet when a pop up message appeared on their computer claiming to be from Humberside Police. The message suggested that the user had done something wrong and need to pay the force £100 to remove the message.
This is not a message from Humberside Police and people are urged not to follow the instructions on screen or send any money.
