Police warning to caravan owners

As the spring weather finally begins police are urging caravan owners who are going on holiday to be vigilant.

After owners get caravans from storage, police are warning criminals could be on the look out for properties with caravans outside.

These criminals may then attempt to steal the caravan, or once they see it has gone, assume the owners are on holiday and burgle the house.

Police are advising caravan owners to be aware of suspicious behaviour and vehicles on their streets.

Detective Chief Inspector Craig Robinson said: “All areas throughout the borough are susceptible to this type of crime.”
