The Donkey Park on the Newlands Estate will see improved play equipment and facilities for all ages of children after North Lincolnshire Council announced it was investing £30,000 towards improvements.

With the development of Atherton Way as a trading estate, the playing field has looked run down and neglected, but now all that is set to change.

The good news of the plan for the development was given to the town council by North Lincolnshire Councillor Rob Waltham at their recent meeting.

The project will also benefit from additional funding in addition to the council’s £30,000,some of which comes from an agreement with a local planning development.

Climbing equipment, swings and a roundabout will all be part of the improvements which will also include the brickwork and fencing around the boundary.

It is hoped the work will be finished and the park re-opened before mid summer.
