South Holland District Council is seeking to join the alliance that was formed between the two authorities last year.

Boston Borough Council has announced an extraordinary meeting of the Full Council for next Monday to discuss the possible extension of the alliance.

The meeting is due to take place at 6.30pm at the Conference Centre at Boston United’s Jakemans Community Stadium on Pilgrim Way.

The published agenda has only one item – an in principle decision to extend the partnership to include South Holland. No report on the agenda item was available at time of going to press, and no response had been received to a request for further information.

The alliance between Boston and East Lindsey began less than a year ago. The two authorities say it will bring around £15.4m over the next 10 years, with changes already implemented including one chief executive for both councils.
