Have your say on Council Tax Support Scheme
Residents are being asked to share their views on West Lindsey District Council's Local Council Tax Support Scheme for the coming year 2027/28.
The scheme, sometimes called the Council Tax Reduction Scheme, helps people on a low income with their Council Tax bill.
Councils have agreed their own local schemes for working-age applicants each year since April 2013.
People who have reached State Pension age are covered by national rules set by the government, so they would not be affected by changes to the local scheme.

For 2027/28, the only proposed change is to update the premiums and allowances used to work out entitlement. The figures would be brought into line with the
Department for Work and Pensions rates taking effect from April 1, 2027. This would help make sure the scheme continues to support vulnerable residents and households on low incomes.
Chairman of the Thriving Council Committee, at West Lindsey District Council, Coun Owen Bierley said: “The Local Council Tax Support Scheme provides important help for residents on low incomes.
“The proposed update would keep the figures used by the scheme in line with nationally recognised rates, helping to ensure support continues to reach those who need it most. Residents are encouraged to take part in the consultation and share their views.”
