Lincolnshire County Council election 2021: who are the candidates standing in the Sleaford area?

Local elections are taking place in Lincolnshire on May 6 for a number of roles with candidates for each division in Sleaford and district identified and listed locally.

Elections will take place for Lincolnshire County Councillors, the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner for Lincolnshire, a by-election district councillor in Bassingham and Brant Broughton ward of North Kesteven and for a Sleaford Town Councillor in the town’s Quarrington Ward.

There will also be a by election for five seats on Pointon and Sempringham Parish Council.

It is expected that the combination of both the PPC and county elections will boost turnout figures this time, along with a predicted upsurge in postal voting due to the pandemic.

Requirements at polling stations will include face coverings, hand sanitiser and safe distancing. Voters should expect to queue. You are asked to go alone and to take your own pen or pencil for extra covid-safe certainty.

There will be five candidates standing for the Police and Crime Commissioner elections, which were postponed from last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Police and Crime Commissioner’s four-year role is to represent the people of Lincolnshire on policing matters and hold the police to account.
