Reminder over council tax and offer of support

Residents in North Kesteven who missed making council tax payments during the coronavirus lockdown are being reminded that they need to bring their accounts up to date.

Leader of the North Kesteven District Council Coun Richard Wright said: “Some residents may simply have forgotten to pay their council tax and others may have been unable to do so for physical or financial reasons.

“We understand this, but we need people to bring their accounts up to date or make alternative arrangements so we can continue to provide essential services that we all rely on. People who have missed payments should bring their accounts up to date so the authority does not need to issue a reminder.”

Help is available, the council says, for those struggling to keep up with payments amid Covid-19:

n Anyone who has had their income cut, or even stopped, may be entitled to a reduction in their charge through the Council Tax Support Scheme. Learn more at www.n-kesteven.gov.uk/makeaclaim

n Anyone who is physically unable to make a payment because they are having to shelter or self-isolate can make a payment online at https://payments.n-kesteven.gov.uk/payonline or over the phone on 03300 881317.
