The industrial action, called by the Fire Brigades Union (FBU), began at 9am.

It is the latest in a series of strikes called by the FBU in opposition to Government changes to firefighter pensions.

A major concern for the union is an increase of the normal pension aged from 55 to 60, which it says could put jobs at risk.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service is advising residents to take extra care during the strike, but still call 999 in the event of an emergency, saying it will respond.

Another bout of industrial action is planned for Saturday, June 21, from 10am to 5pm.
