Fishery's growth plans approved
The Ashby Road attraction currently has two fishing ponds plus three other ponds which are used for related purposes.
But the complex is soon also set to accommodate 12 holiday homes and pitches for up to 16 touring caravans after a planning application from owners Syslink was given the green light.
The go-ahead was received at an East Lindsey District Council planning meeting on Thursday.
The proposal prompted three objections from nearby residents, fearful of noise, light pollution, litter and traffic hazard.
They were deemed of insufficient weight to warrant planning refusal.
Officers had recommend it be approved with conditions.
Before work starts, the applicant has been asked to ensure that mitigation measures are adopted in the event that a survey reveals the on-site presence of great crested newts.
There is also a requirement for a landscaping and tree-planting scheme – not least to ensure minimum disruption to bird breeding and feeding habitat.
