The council has been approached by the County Council which is exploring the need for future expansion of the school as the village’s population grows.

Simon Challis, Strategic Development Officer, said: “In the light of central government’s desire for large scale housebuilding, Lincolnshire County Council is undertaking a strategic programme of work in Lincolnshire to ascertain where there is the potential to expand existing school provision within the county to meet increasing numbers of pupils generated by development.”

At last week’s parish council meeting, chairman Coun Jan Palmer said the school could expand by up to 105 students in future, requiring building on its own field.

The parish had been asked to consider allowing use of the neighbouring village playing field during school times.

Coun Palmer said there would need to be payment for increased maintenance costs and more facts would be needed before a decision could be made.
