Sleaford Town Council has given the go-ahead after selecting Urban Ramps as its contractor for the new park facility at its meeting last Wednesday.

The company will design and build the ramp, but part of the initial work will involve consultation with users, explained clerk to the council Kevin Martin.

The council had invited companies to tender for the work with three expressions of interest. One was discounted early on leaving a straight choice between Urban Ramps and Fearless Ramps.

Both offered 20-year guarantees, pointing out that the existing ground material may ned resurfacing. The council opted for the all steel ramps of Urban Ramps at a cost of £33,317 plus installation.

At the same meeting the council agreed to upgrade its CCTV coverage of the recreation ground from three cameras to six at a cost of £3,976 to allow wider coverage of the park. Two will cover the skate park.
