To allow work to progress on the latest phase of the Chestnut Homes Quadrant development in Boston, motorists will be faced with temporary traffic lights and a series of weekend road closures in the coming weeks.

Two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A16 from Monday, September 5 to Friday September 16 to enable work to be completed on kerbing, footways and ducting on the west side of the roundabout.

Lincolnshire County Council says the lights will be in place 24 hours a day and will be manually controlled to keep traffic flowing as much as possible.

However, the council warns that some delays are likely, particularly at peak periods and suggests that drivers may wish to consider alternative routes or vary the times of their journeys where possible.

There will then be a series of weekend closures so the carriageway can be surfaced. These closures will run from 7pm Friday to 6am Monday on the following weekends:

l September 16-19

l September 23-26

l September 30 - October 3

l October 7-10

l October 14-17

A council spokesman said: “The travelling public are asked to read and follow the information on the temporary signage that will be in place during the works.

“On behalf of the developer, we apologise in advance for any delays or disruption to people’s journeys during this final stage.”
