VIDEO: Blind 104-year-old determined not to miss her chance to vote in the General Election
Eunice ‘Betty’ Knight was wheeled to her polling station by staff at Skirbeck Court Care Home in Boston where she is a resident.
Due to her lack of eyesight, a nominated member of staff helped her to put an ‘x’ in her chosen box.

Hide AdThe plucky Swineshead-born woman said people ‘should vote’ and revealed she has been a staunch Liberal Democrat supporter all her life.
Staff at the care home, in Spilsby Road, said Betty was ‘determinded and adament’ that she make it out to have her vote at Holy Trinity church hall.
When asked why she votes Lib Dem, she said: “I can’t remember,” but later revealed her father was a Liberal.
Jean Bamber, home manager at Skirbeck Court, told The Standard: “As part of the Order of St John’s Care Trust, we are really promoting and helping our residents to have their vote today.

Hide Ad“These ladies and gentleman fought in the war for us, so we really think it’s important that their voices are heard.”
Staff at the home have made fairy cakes iced in the party colours, in the hope their residents’ choices will ‘predict the outcome’ of the election.
