Popular paintings and curious cabinets on display in Gainsborough

This weekend, the Gainsborough Heritage Centre will be launching two new exhibitions, which will feature Karl Wood's paintings and some Cabinets of Curiosity.

Karl Wood is best remembered for his distinctive watercolours in which he painted scenes of old Gainsborough, which were shown at an exhibition at the centre in 2014.

The Cabinets of Curiosity exhibition will give the Centre the chance to showcase different items held across its social history collection.

Come along and have a guess at what some of the items might once have been made or used for.

The centre on North Street is open on Saturday from 9am until 3pm and the second and fourth Sundays of the month from 11am until 4pm.

During the week the Centre is open on Tuesdays from 10am until 3pm. The exhibition entry fee is £1.50 to non-members of the Association.
