People were given samples of tasty treats to try, including homemade confectionary and parsnip chips and paella.

Families also took place in a cookery show, which involved four teams battling it out against the clock to produce a family dish for four and a side dish, all on a £10 budget.

A spokesman for the school said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to every one that came and well done to the winning family team who all got medals for their winning dish that was voted by everyone.”

The evening was supported by Morrison’s Worksop, who came along to meet the families and let them sample a whole range of freshly made products they have in store.
