Rising Sun officially opened its doors on March 25 and already has a popular karaoke night taking place every Thursday night from 8pm.

Ms Appleyard explained: “This pub used to be really busy a few years ago and I am hoping to bring it back to its former glory - but with some exciting new additions.

“I must stress that The Rising Sun is very much a family pub, where everyone is welcome, especially now, as we have started serving food in the evening from Monday-Saturday, 5-8.30pm, with something on the menu for all to enjoy.”

Alongside their food offer, there is also a pool table, a slush machine for children to enjoy and, for the adults, the pub now serves alcoholic slush, which Dawn says the punters cannot get enough of.

There is also a disco on Friday and Saturday nights, Happy Hour every day from 4-pm, apart from Sundays, and various drinks offers throughout the week.
