The picnic-themed day - which includes appearances by Peter Rabbit - complements the racecourse’s Lawn Enclosure Community Project.

Pupils from five local schools - De Aston, Middle Rasen, Legsby, Osgodby and Tealby - have been designing and planting flower beds provided by the racecourse. They will be formally unveiled on the day that the racecourse’s Family Enclosure is re-titled the Lawn Enclosure.

The beds will also include a time capsule.

Market Rasen Racecourse general manager Nadia Gollings said: “It’s sure to be an exciting race-day for all the family.

“The new Lawn Enclosure celebrates all that is good for families on our race-days.

“Market Rasen Racecourse is very much part of its community and we are pleased to be giving something back to our customers who support us throughout the year.”
