Radio launches bus project

County Linx Radio's new community bus will bring free events support and IT sessions to the East Lindsey area.

County Linx Radio, in Irby in the Marsh, has now completed its “Club” – Communication, Learning, Understanding Bus – project.

The bus will be used to support local communities in the East Lindsey area and is available for use at events with music, PA equipment and staging.

It will also travel to rural villages and locations to provide computer classes and internet access.

East Lindsey District Council donated their old Funk Bus to the project. It has now been refurbished with a radio station and computer suite for community use.

Andrew Ayers, co-founder of County Linx Radio, said: “The hard work and dedication of the County Linx Radio team and the support from local organisations and businesses has meant that the project is up and running within seven months.

“We would like to thank the Postcode Lottery, the Dulverton Trust, Waterloo Housing and local Lions Club for their generous donations and grants.

“I would also like to thank Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service and our generous advertisers, which include Magna Vitae and the Community Lincs TED project, as well as many others.”

The refurbished bus will be returning to Tedder Hall, Manby, for its official launch today (Wednesday) from 3.30pm, with the ribbon cutting taking place at 5.30pm. All are welcome to attend.
