Radio station needs a name say organisers

Volunteers planning to launch a community radio station in Sleaford are seeking help - to choose a name!

A group of people with experience in running other community stations have been working behind the scenes to gain support for their project from local bodies such as the town and district councils.

Project leader Daniel Sumpton, of Sleaford, a producer and presenter on Lincoln’s community station Siren FM, said: “We are progressing with the radio station project and would like to ask the public for suggestions for names for the station.”

They were currently preparing to apply for a licence from Ofcom, but without a name they could not set up as an official organisation with a constitution and branding. They could then apply for grants and sponsors and secure business premises.
