Raising funds to bring radiotherapy to Doncaster Royal Infirmary

A charity walk is being planned to raise funds towards a borough-wide health appeal.

The event is on Sunday June 26 leaving Doncaster’s Mansion House and going to Thorne.

Organised by Thorne Rural Lions in conjunction with Doncaster Detection Trust the walk is in aid of the £1m appeal to bring radiotherapy to Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

A spokesman said: “Working with Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust our £1m target will enable new scanning facilities and a new treatment suite at DRI allowing patients to receive their radiotherapy treatment here in Doncaster rather than having to make the journey to Sheffield.
