The club, based at Rase Park, is in need of extensive work which steward Kerri Paul estimates will cost in excess of £40,000.

Plans include a new kitchen, new changing rooms and extending the bar
area.

Already, the club has won an £8,000 Small Community Funding Grant for the new kitchen - and Mrs Paul is in the process of applying to Sport England for another
£30,000.

She said: “Basically the building’s just old and we’ve outgrown it - it needs a lot of work doing to it.

“We’re applying for grants and constantly fundraising.

“It was brilliant to get the first grant for the
kitchen.

“It means we can do more on the food side of
things.

“But it’s [the entire project] going to cost a lot of
money.

“It’s an ongoing thing we’re pushing more than ever at the moment.”

The club now has five junior football and cricket teams as well as the senior teams.

Mrs Paul said: “A lot of the parents who don’t come into the club might not even know what we’re up to.

“We need to get the word out there.”

Market Rasen supermarket, Tesco, is already on board.

Mrs Paul said: “We got quite a bit of support from Tesco, letting us do bag packing up there.

“And they have chosen us as one of their projects to help in the community.”

Mrs Paul has planned many fundraising events for the coming months, including the club’s annual summer gala, which she says is going to be ‘bigger and better this
year’.

Mrs Paul, and husband Tim, took over as stewards at Rase Park back in October last year.

Mr Paul said: “I started playing here when I was
14.

“It was a great time and I have lots of good memories.

“Now I have done the playing and the managing of teams, so the next thing is to give something back to the club and help it continue for years to come.”

There is a thriving junior section in both sports, as well as darts teams and dominoes teams.

Rase Park sits between the Gallamore Lane Industrial Estate and Rase
Lane.
