Reader letter: Are cameras about road safety?
I am not surprised that £1 million has been paid in ‘speeding fines’. Many of these speed cameras have very little to do with road safety.
I have been on wide open dual carridgeways with no junctions etc, with a 40mph speed limit.
This must be very good money spinner.
I wonder how much the new speed limits are based on false research just like the 70mph on motorways.
A very senior RAC official said at the time: “There are enough red herrings in this to fill the hold of the largest Grimsby trawler.”
