RECENT NOSTALGIA: Bird bonanza at Old Leake

This group of eco warriors from Old Leake Primary School enjoyed an ornithological extravaganza in February 2007 when Mick Todd came to visit from the RSPB.

Mick spent the day teaching the children about the different types of British birds which can be found in the school grounds and around the local area.

The youngsters learned how to distinguish different birds by their calls, and by their distinctive colouring and markings.

Old Leake Primary School is now embarking on a bird count every day for two weeks, monitoring all the different birds spotted in the school grounds.
