People have been really positive about their visits to Normanby Hall:

“Normanby Hall is a beautiful place for just strolling around and enjoying the scenery, following up with a lovely cup of hot chocolate in winter or an ice-cream in summer at the Cafe in the courtyard. There is always something to see, be it a trip around the house for their latest exhibition, the walled garden or the petting zoo which has been there over this summer.”

“Purchased an annual pass as the price wasn’t too much more than a day price. Lovely gardens, beautiful trees and amazing deer, even saw a white hart! Enjoyed walking around and the children had so much fun. The splash area is great especially for the children on a hot day. The animals were great to see and feed. The house is fantastic and full of history.”

With the petting farm (which has now left) and new farmyard themed Splashpad there was even more to do at Normanby Hall Country Park during the summer holidays for families.

Not forgetting the land train that ran daily throughout the summer holidays, the miniature railway and lots of other fun activities – families were spoilt for choice.

What visitors thought about the Splashpad and petting farm: “We adored petting the animals. The calves and sheep were hilarious demanding our attention. An excellent addition to the weekend activities and educational too.”

It was brilliant having the animals at the park, my 18 month old granddaughter’s face lit up when she saw them. She liked being able to get up close.

The improvements in facilities offered at the park are great additions. Over the past couple of years a land train, a woodland path, Changing Place, adapted wheelchair bikes, Splashpad and now a summer petting zoo. Well done.”

“We had a great day out here with our three boys and our friends, and their young babies. We had a great day. The grounds are beautiful. Great play area/park (where we ate our picnic whilst watching the boys play). Also a fabulous water/splash area where the kids could run through the sprinklers and play with the water (they loved it)! Will definitely return.”

Don’t miss out on the rest of the summer season at Normanby Hall, which ends on 27 September. Even though the petting farm has now left (as it was only visiting for the schools holidays) the Splashpad is open until the end of the summer season, but will reopen next year. The land train and miniature railway are also still running at weekends for the rest of the summer season.

Councillor John Briggs, cabinet member for Assets, Culture and Housing, said: “What a brilliant summer we’ve had at Normanby Hall Country Park. These visitor figures are tremendous. This just goes to show what a wonderful place it is and that is the perfect venue for family days out. The new Splashpad and petting farm were a real hit with everyone. We received some extremely positive feedback from all the visitors.

“We are always looking at different ways to improve our venues. We have been asked to bring the petting farm back to Normanby Hall next year, so of course this is something we will consider and see if we can make it possible.”
