Neighbourhood plans allow communities to help guide development in their area by giving them the chance to show how they would like the land to be used.

Proposals must face a referendum and, on Thursday, November 3, a ballot will be held over the neighbourhood plan for Dunston.

The question will be: “Do you want North Kesteven District Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Dunston to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?” If more than half of votes are in favour of the plan, then the council will be asked to adopt it.

People can vote (in person, by post, or by proxy) in the referendum if they live in the Dunston parish, and are registered to vote in local council elections (British, European or Commonwealth citizens), aged 18 or over, and on the electoral register. To check if you are registered, call 01529 308238.

The polling station will be at the Village Hall, in Chapel Lane, Dunston, and open from 7am to 10pm.
