The pilot was Captain Brian Bridgman, 58, of Canterbury in Kent.

The passenger was John Stephen Kent, aged 50, from Romford in Essex.

The helicopter was due to refuel at Humberside Aiport before continuing on to Retford but crashed into the sea near Flamborough Head.

Witnesses at the scene heard a low ‘crack’ as the helicopter descended behind the cliffs and crashed.

Despite a rescue operation involving air sea rescue and the coastguard, police confirmed that the bodies of the two men were recovered from the aircraft shortly after 5pm.

Humberside police continue their investigations into the incident.
