Retford: Illegal rave closed down at former colliery

Around 600 people are believed to have been at the site at the former Bevercotes Colliery on Sunday.

Notts Police officers worked to bring the suspected rave to a peaceful conclusion as quickly as possible.

The force said it is continuing to work with the owners of the site to try and prevent future incidents.

A 19-year-old man from Dunstable was arrested nearby on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.
