Retford: Man charged with manslaughter of fellow inmate at Ranby Prison

A man has been charged in connection with the death of a fellow inmate who was assaulted at Ranby Prison.

Quinn Colley, 24, of HMP Prison Ranby, was charged with the manslaughter of Thomas Axton, 37, of Bracknell, Berkshire, who died from his injuries in hospital in Sheffield.

The incident at the Category C men’s prison at Retford occurred on Monday 15th June.

Colley was charged on Thursday 18th June and appeared before Nottingham magistrates the next day.

Three other men aged between 22 and 39 are currently on bail pending further enquiries.
