Retford: Man fined for possessing a class B drug

A 32 year-old man has been fined over £400 at Worksop Magistrates’ Court for possession of a class B drug.

Paul Batty, from Retford, was arrested in March after being caught in possession of 31 grams of amphetamimes.

Defending, Mr Jamie Ratcliffe said Batty had been estranged from his partner at the time he was caught with the drugs but that his relationship was now back on a more even keel.

District Judge Baker said Batty earned favour for pleading guilty straight away and co-operating with the Police.

He was fined £300, plus a £30 surcharge and £85 in costs, He was ordered to pay the fine at a rate of £25 per week.
