Retford man getting hairy for charity

A RETFORD man is sporting a new charity look - all in the name of charity.

When Ian Doughty’s girlfriend said she like him with a bit of facial hair, he decided the only way it was going to remain was for a good cause.

“I hadn’t had a shave for a couple of weeks and my girlfriend said she liked it,” said Ian, from Hallcroft.

“I said the only way I was going to keep it was if I raised money for charity. So I am.”

Ian, 30, hopes to raise around £1,000 through his hairy challenge for the Breast Cancer Campaign.

At Christmas he shall be offering people the chance to decide how it should be removed.

He added: “I’m keeping for around another six weeks, until the weekend of 22nd December.”

“It’s started to get quite long now. I’ve gone past the itching stage. I’ve got brown hair but my beard is turning a ginger colour.”

To sponsor Ian visit www.justgiving.com/doughty, visit his Facebook page Beard for Breast Cancer or fill in the sponsorship form at the farm shop in Mattersey Thorpe.

Collection tins will also put in some Retford pubs over the next few weeks.
