Retford martial arts academy is getting a kick out of Sport Relief

The event invites anyone and everyone to come along ad try and make as many karate kicks as possible in a minute.

As well as themselves, Academy members and supporters are all invited to bring a friend to kick along at the event which is being held at the Academy on Exchange Street in Retford from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Open to all ages and capabilities, whether you are a martial arts practitioner or simply a member of the general public, everyone is welcome to give it a go.

The target is to raise £500 on the night.

As well as the Kick-athon, there will also be light refreshments, drinks, cakes and biscuits on sale to help raise more funds.

There will also be raffles and prizes for best kicks.

Rachel Blinston, from the Academy said: “Sponsorships forms were handed out to students throughout February.

“We are expecting a great turn out and a lively energetic evening.”
