Retford mum gets drink-driving ban

A SINGLE-MOTHER from Retford has been banned from driving after admitting being over the limit when her car veered off the road on the A620 on her way back from Worksop.

Appearing before Worksop Magistrates Court, Lisa Jane Taylor from Hirst Road in Retford, said that she swerved to avoid something in the road and when her Vauxhall Zafira left the road and crashed into a hedgerow on the evening of 20th December last year.

The court heard how the 36-year-old single mother of three who suffers from depression felt as if she had ‘let her children down’ as one of them often needs driving to hospital for a medical condition, before she was banned from driving for 12 months.

She was also fined £200 and ordered to pay a £15 victim’s surcharge and £85 court costs.
