A statement from the Notts Healthcare said: “Notts Healthcare is today publishing an investigation report into Jimmy Savile’s contact with Rampton Hospital.”

“This was prompted by a Freedom of Information request that uncovered a number of visits to the Hospital by Savile in the early 70s.”

“The Trust is as confident as it can be, due to the historical nature of events, that his contact was limited to what is contained within the report.”

During the investigation we reviewed all current Policies and Procedures at the Trust. We are confident that the Trust’s Policies and Procedures are robust, thorough and fit for purpose.”

“We are assured that celebrity status would not empower an individual or individuals to gain access to Rampton Hospital patients, staff and services, or indeed to any of the Trust’s other premises.”

“We have offered support to those who have come forward during the investigation and would urge anyone else that the report affects and who would like support to make themselves known to the Staff Counselling Service.”
