Retford: Pictures of van damage as police confirm ‘serious assault’

Pictures have emerged of the damage caused to a van at the centre of a police probe in Retford.

The images, which show the smashed driver’s side window and two windscreen impact shatters, suggest a violent encounter.

The red van was parked alone in the middle of Churchgate car park which has been taped off since the early hours of Saturday 8th February.

Notts Police has still not revealed what happened, but a spokesman confirmed they are investigating a ‘serious assault’.

More details are expected to be released within the next hour.

Forensic specialists and CID officers have been scouring the scene.

Churchgate car park is expected to be closed for the next few hours while investigations continue.

Saturday shoppers are advised to use alternative car parks while police carry out their investigations.
