Kurt Vaccari, 25, of Freeman’s Lane, pleaded guilty to possessing the Class A drugs at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 2nd April.

Sanjay Jerath, prosecuting, told the court that Vaccari had been thrown out of a pub while on a night out in Retford, and was taken to one side by police who saw that he was acting suspiciously.

A search of the defendant revealed that he was carrying a tin containing several MDMA tablets.

Vaccari’s defence solictor said that Vaccari ‘only did drugs on a weekend’ as they helped him to ‘unwind and relax’ after a stressful week.

He added that the drugs were for Vaccari’s personal use only, and that he was a man of good character with no previous convictions.

Magistrates said: “We take the fact you have no previous convictions into account, but this is still a Class A drug you were using.”

Vaccari was fined a total of £190.

He was also ordered to pay £80 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
