The autumn festival at Idle Valley Nature Reserve, close to Retford, will provide a range of free, family friendly, activities for visitors to enjoy, while the popular café will be serving seasonal treats like spiced pumpkin soup and toffee apples made from locally picked fruit.

The event will take place on Sunday, October 25 between 10am and 4pm.

And the charity is hoping that visitors from across Bassetlaw and beyond will see the event as an ideal opportunity to visit the nature reserve and the Idle Valley Rural Learning Centre which acts as a gateway to the site.

The eco-friendly building, owned by North Notts College, provides a focal point for events as well as hub for learning activities at what is one of the region’s largest nature reserves.

“We are very busy here at the reserve planning for our autumn event and we’re particularly excited about our seasonal menu,” said Trish Evans of Notts Wildlife Trust

“We are also gathering prize-winning conkers for the competition planned for the festival.

“We invite everyone to join us for great seasonal activities and wildlife-themed fun.

“Thanks to the support of local groups and volunteers our autumn festival promises to be wild and wonderful.”

The Idle Valley Nature Reserve and Rural Learning Centre are located off North Road in Retford, and can be found by following the official brown tourist signs.
