Morrisons will remove all trolley locks at its Idle Valley Road store in Retford in response to Retford’s customer feedback, which has called for quicker and easier shopping trips.

This will remove the need to insert a £1 coin or token to release a trolley from its bay.

Simon Nunwick, store general manager for Morrisons in Retford said: “Our nation is getting busier and we have less free time than previous generations.

“Customers in Retford have told us that they want a quicker shop.”

“The removal of trolley locks is just one of the improvements we are making to make for a faster and easier shopping trip.”

Morrisons say 150,000 locks will be removed from stores across the country this July.

The move will be part of a significant investment programme of changes being made to make shopping trips easier for customers.”
