Retford: Teenager attacked in field

A teenager was grabbed and pinned to the ground during an assault in a field in Retford.

Police are appealing for information following the attack on the evening of Saturday 6th July.

A 17-year-old was walking in the field which runs along the side of Leverton Road and the canal at about 8.30pm.

Police said that as she neared the entrance at Raglan Road, an unknown offender grabbed her and pinned her to the floor.

The teenager’s screams frightened the man away and although she was not hurt she is extremely shaken her ordeal.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault, heard screams or who has any information about it to contact them.

The offender is white, in his 30s and about 5ft 10in tall. He was wearing a black hooded top and jogging bottoms.
