Retford: Victims of fatal A1 collision at Ranby named

Three people who died in a crash on the A1 at Ranby have been formally identified.

Leroy Carrington, 68, and Sheila Carrington, 58, from Killingworth in Tyne and Wear, were travelling in a Peugeot 206 when it was in collision with a Vauxhall Astra at about 11.15pm on Sunday 20 July.

They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Roderick Franks, 58, from St Albans in Hertfordshire, was the passenger in the Astra. He was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre where he was later pronounced dead.

The 26-year-old driver of the Astra sustained minor injuries and was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre.

Anyone who saw either vehicle before the collision may have important information- call Notts police on 101.
