Rising star Lizzie films music video

SINGING has been Lizzie Goddard’s passion since she was a toddler.

“I could probably sing before I could talk,” said the 15-year-old.

But while being in front of the camera is very different for her, she has welcomed it with confidence.

Lizzie, a pupil at Queen Elizabeth’s High School in Gainsborough, has just starred in her first music video.

The project took three days, filming at home in Gainsborough, in Scunthorpe and even on the beach at South Ferriby.

“It was so exciting to be making my own video,” said Lizzie, who has been supporting local bands at venues around Lincolnshire.

The video was shot by Scunthorpe based production company KNOW Media, who offered their services free of charge after Lizzie came second in a battle of the bands contest.

“I’ve recorded a couple of songs before, but I’ve never done anything like this,” said Lizzie.

The songstress, who plays guitar and cites Adele, Katy Perry and Christina Perri as inspiration, is used to performing on stage for large crowds.

But this task required some acting ability, as she was asked to recreate her own song In My Arms for the camera.

“It was nerve racking at first but I soon relaxed and enjoyed myself. The guys from KNOW Media were really nice too, and very professional,” she said.

Mum Rachel Goddard, of Morton Terrace, said Lizzie has always loved singing.

“She started at Parish Church Primary School where she sang in the choir,” said Rachel.

“Aged 12 she won Gainsborough’s X Factor at the X Church and she sang at the Riverside Festival for the first time. Then a year ago she taught herself guitar and began composing her own songs.”

Lizzie said: “Mum and dad are really supportive. It’s family effort and we can’t wait to see the results of the shoot.”
