Lincolnshire Police announced via Twitter that the road was closed due to flood waters reaching four feet under the railway bridge, with at least one vehicle getting stuck and needing to be retrieved by emergency services.

The police spokesman advised motorsists to avoid and use alternate routes.

Lincolnshire Police Specials tweeted: “Please don’t chance your safety or ours. It might be deeper than you think, 20 minutes on a different route is quicker!”
